Beating the January Blues

I don’t know about you but I'm 100% feeling the January blues!! Is it the constant grey skies, dark night and lack of vitamin D? Who knows but I feel it.

So this being said i have to sit back and take a look at my life and all the wonderful people in it and wonder why am i feeling so blue?

I recently read the saddest blog post about a very brave young lady called Holly Butcher who wrote a letter to the world before she passed away. If you have your big girl pants on and are feeling brave give it a read, I can honestly say it will help you see your crapy day in a totally different light. (don’t forget the tissues)

Most days I worry or stress out (usually both) about the smallest most insignificant things and you really should ask yourself why?! Does it really matter if you hair isn't straight enough or if you step in a puddle on your way to work, if your train is late or someone still hasn't emailed you back.

Every day around the world people are going through the most terrible things the difference is you just don't know about them. Be grateful your bad day is full of little problems that can easily be solved.

I have two full proof ways of making me feel better.

1.Music!!! Listening to music can change my mood in seconds no joke! I think its magic or some kind of witchcraft.

2.Talking to my Dad, he puts my whole world into perspective in around 30 seconds flat. What would I do without him?!

Everyone is different and I’m sure you all have that one thing you know will always make you feel better so do it!!!

Do yourself a favour on this cold and wet Monday in January and just take a deep breath and relax. Tomorrow is another day full of hopes and dreams. It really is a wonderful world when you think about it.

Emma

xoxo
